As such, these replace the type actions from the previous games. These depend on a specific category that is separate from the class system, and are performed by holding down the right shoulder button and pressing either the normal, charge, or musou attack buttons, the latter two requiring a special magic gauge, and the last also requiring half of a player's musou gauge. New to the series is the concept of magic and Sacred Treasures, techniques that allow characters to perform special feats to overcome enemies. Each character has a class type that determines their ability: Power, Speed, and Technique the Wonder type introduced in Warriors Orochi 3 has been removed. Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC some time in 2020.As with the previous iterations, the player is given control of a three-man team consisting of characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series. This puts the roster over a staggering 150 playable characters.
Both are part of the additional five new characters thus far revealed. Hades is a brand new face to the franchise, based on the Greek god of the underworld. Ninja Gaiden‘s Ryu Hayabase has been confirmed to join the fray, but he won’t be alone, as Hades and Achilles from Greek mythology are coming with him.Īchilles is based on the version from Warriors: Legends of Troy, a 2011 titles that took the Warriors formula and applied it to Greek mythology, specifically The Illiad.
The Orochi series has always been one the developer has used as a crossover. It promises an enhanced version of Warriors Orochi 4 that adds new gameplay features, story and, most importantly of all, new characters to hack down the hordes with.
The next installment in the long running Warriors series, Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, is coming at the beginning of next year.
